About Smith & Allen
Smith & Allen, LLC is a new venture with two former employees of J.H. Allen Inc. General Contractors, of Asheboro, NC. Doug Allen and Shannon Smith both have over 30 years of general construction experience.
Doug Allen served as President of JHA and was the majority owner for the last 11 years of JHA’s existence. Shannon Smith served as a Project Manager and Estimator during his tenure with JHA. JHA was primarily an Industrial and Institutional contractor during its existence. Projects were typically located in central NC and included the Randolph County Courthouse, Randolph Hospital Deck, Randolph County Detention Center, and many projects for local High Schools, Middle Schools, and Universities.
Currently, our team is competing in projects from half a million dollars to $4 million in value, with bigger goals on the horizon. At present, the competitive bid market provides up to 50% of our work volume. We win this business on the strength of our superior project accounting and administration abilities.
